They’re making a movie about a very important group of people who risked their lives to bring reality to people who have no concept of it. War and conflict zone photography is a secret, and probably never to be recognized, passion of mine.
If you don’t know anything about it, this additional thing might give you some insight.
This is one of the images captured during the time. It speaks more brilliantly than I can about this type of photojournalism and what it means to be an artist or documentarian.
I recommend everyone pick up the book, “The Bang Bang Club,” which is what this movie is based on.
I hope they didn’t mess this one up.
This is courage. After Wisconsin’s governor illegally closed the capitol, protesters are sleeping outside. Tents not allowed. It’s 15ºF.
I saw Tumblr users passionately support Libya, but they have been absolutely silent about these amazing people. Let’s show some support for these protesters too. The might not face death, but they are still fighting hard for their beliefs and refuse to back down and let their rights be taken away.
this is so painful
lololololol I don’t believe in god the father almighty creator of heaven and erf etc etc :O
omgad. that was one of my favorite comics / graphic novel / whatever it is. I had that one and another one, and they were gooood.
I didn’t know you could GET douche-chills this bad.
wait could you explain “rewinding” to me again?
and what do you mean “rebooting” has something to do with bootstraps? boots don’t have straps.
Wait, wut? Are you being sarcastic? Rewinding would be derived from the spool on which a cassette / tape’s magnetic strip is/was wound. You “re-wind” the strip onto the spool.
As for reboot, yeah, it does have to do with boots, and straps. Here’s a link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bootstrapping_(computing) and also - boots do and did have straps. This was sarcastic right? I’m confused.
I don’t know what’s sadder: that people really think these only New York things, or that I can live just fine without all of it.
I’m not saying I take any of these things for granted. I love being able to rely (somewhat) on a subway to take my drunk ass where I need to be and keep me far away from the wheel of a car, but I wouldn’t mind getting away from pretty much everything else on that list. I’ve had enough view, rage, bar hopping and interesting concerts to last me forevs. I think New York is swell for like, two or three years, maybe, but growing up and living your whole miserable life here just isn’t right. I’m sure that if I leave I’ll come back eventually, and maybe I’ll enjoy it more. But the rent is just too damn high for now.
Pretty much agree.
Traditionally, journals are secret things. The owner of a journal will write secret thoughts, secretly, in their secret journal. But then the internet came. Everyone started to make their secrets public. The “private” buttons were forgotten. And now we are here.
